We offer dyes for a wide variety of fibers, fabrics and applications, including Acid Dye, Basic Dye, Cochineal, Concentrated Vinyl Sulphon, iDye, Indigo, Procion MX, Silk Colors, SolarFast, and Super Fast Acid Dye for Wool. A dye is a coloured substance that chemically bonds to the substrate to which it is being applied. This distinguishes dyes from pigments which do not chemically bind to the material they colour. The dye is generally applied in an aqueous solution, and may require a mordant to improve the fastness of the dye on the fiber.. Both dyes and pigments are colored, because they absorb only some.

There are several quality books on natural dyes. The first one I got was The Weaver’s Garden. That little book was given to me by my step mother, Deborah, who was a kindred gardener and lover of beautiful things.       Now I would like to share my personal experience in dying with fungi. As mentioned, our class extracted (and we’re still extracting) dyes from fungi. Books by Casselman (), Bolton (), and the Bessettes () were valuable guides. Check out our dye book selection for the very best in unique or custom, handmade pieces from our shops.

Gösta Sandberg creates some of the best historical research survey books of natural dye methods. This book contains a broad spectrum of information on the ancient extraction methods and applications of dyestuff as well as contemporary recipes and on: North Occidental Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, United States.

There are two very strong happenings right now at the exact time of the book's release that author Ginny Dye could not have predicted while writing this book that give this book even greater meaning. First, African American Ahmaud Arbery was recently chased down while simply out jogging by 2 white men who shot and killed him because they "thought" he had committed a robbery/5().

The Wild Dyer: A Maker's Guide to Natural Dyes with Projects to Create and Stitch (learn how to forage for plants, prepare textiles for dyeing, and from coasters to a patchwork blanket)/5(23).

What is the Dyes. book of pH in dyeing. What is the optimal pH. This is a good Dyes. book and explains how to sample color dyes on yarn or other fibers. Then it also explains how to dye yarn with multiple colors and get something that looks great and not like mud. Hand dyed multiple color yarns look complicated until you go through this book.

The series is meant for children and pre-teens, but anyone can read this fun series straight from the imagination Ginny Dye. The popular line of books has four books in total that make up the series.

The third and fourth books are titled Little Heart and The Miracle of Chinese Bamboo. Dream Dragon is the first novel in the Fly to Your Dreams series. The indigo chapter of the book Joy Boutrup and I wrote, The Art and Science of Natural Dyes (Schiffer Press), focuses on the use of quick reduction vats that use iron, henna or sugar, along with lime (calcium hydroxide) to reduce the indigo.

Since the book was published I have been very interested to learn more about indigo fermentation. This book is written for general users of dye lasers.

Researchers of laser dyes may refer to the mentioned publications for more detailed information.
